Questions expected in CLAT in year 2017

The questions that are expected to be asked in CLAT 2017 include all the above questions asked from year 2013 – to year 2016.

What new can be asked in CLAT 2017 is uncertain. We have no basis to guess what new to expect but we hope that you will prepare the above mentioned topics thoroughly.

Some new questions that are usually a part of logical reasoning section of aptitude tests and can be asked in CLAT in year 2016 are:

  • Non – Verbal Reasoning Questions: here you are usually given a figure series and are expected to tell which figure will follow next.
  • Combination of existing types of questions: Eg. a combination of blood relations and seating arrangement questions.
  • Statement - Course of Action
  • Cause and Effect

Actionable Tips on how to Prepare Logical Reasoning for CLAT 2017:

1. Go through previous year papers

Go through past year papers to understand the trend of the previous years and to get an idea of the difficulty level of questions. This will tell you what to expect in the current year. It will also make you familiar with the various topics. Logical Reasoning is a completely new area that is never taught in school so it requires a little hard-work in the beginning.


2. Join a good online CLAT test series

Join a good online test series. Take some CLAT online tests on a regular basis. This will acquaint you with the online testing platform and also boost your confidence. With every test, you will be able to better discover your strengths and weaknesses instantly after the exam. These are things that no paper pencil test can prepare you for.

3. Go through Books

Refer to one good book and try to solve as many as problems possible. A good book you can refer to while solving LR questions is “Analytical reasoning by MK Pandey”. This book acts as a perfect guide for students who are weak in LR section. It comprises of some useful tips and solved answers to aid aspirants weak in LR. It also consists of easy and simple methods to solve the problems. Don’t refer to too many books as this will waste your time. Stick to 1 good book.


4. Learn shortcut techniques

There are no straight shortcuts to solve logical reasoning questions. The only way to save time is to practice. Once you are comfortable with all types of questions, they will start consuming less time. You can find simpler and more convenient ways to solve every topic in books.


5. Device a time Management strategy

Device a time management plan, in a way that you do not leave any question and attempt all the questions. The focus of the strategy must be to devote enough time to every question considering that you have 120 minutes only for 200 questions.
