Hello Aspirants,

Interested & eligible candidates can fill the online application form for CLAT-UG from 1 January, 2017 as per the official notification.

CLAT exam is conducted by National Law University. Currently, there are 17 NLU’s within our country out of which one of the NLU conducts this exam. Last year it was conducted by Rajiv Gandhi National Law University of Law, Punjab. For the year 2017, it is responsibility of “Chankya National Law University, Patna”, to conduct the examination.

Eligibility Criteria for UG Programme:

  • Interested candidates must have done +2 and the candidates whose result is awaited are also eligible to apply.
  • +2 must have been cleared from a recognized university with the minimum 45% marks for general category and 40% marks for SC/ ST category.
  • The candidates will have to produce an evidence of qualifying the exam at the time of admission.
  • Candidates who have cleared +2 with compartment are also eligible to apply for the examination.

Age Limit

Candidates should be below:

  • 20 years of age in case of Unreserved/ NRI/ NRI sponsored categories.
  • 22 years in case of SC/ST/OBC/ SAP categories as on 1 July, 2017.


Registration Procedure

  • Visit the official website of CLAT 2017
  • Open CLAT application form 2017
  • Fill in the required details.
  • Upload scanned images of the required certificates
  • Make the fee payment via online or through offline mode
  • Once your application form is complete, take the hard copy of the application form and keep it safely for further process.


Document Requirement at time of Registration

  • 10th standard mark sheet along with the Birth certificate.
  • Passport size photograph with 30mm x 45mm. It should be in JPG format with a size of 100kb.
  • Candidate signature should in JPG format with 100kb size
  • Category certificate (if required)
  • Domicile certificate (if applying for state quota)
  • Email Id and contact no.
  • Candidate qualification details
  • Payment details

Following steps are to be followed for filling Application form:

Step 1-Online Registration

Visit the official website of CLAT and click on Online Application Form .Enter the required information . For instance, name of the applicant, father’s & mother’s name ,DOB, Email ID, contact no, Nationality, Security code.

After entering the details, proceed by clicking on submit button.

Once you finish the first step & successfully registers yourself, you will find the login details on your screen which includes the Email ID and password.


Step 2 - Fill complete details in the Application Form

Applicants must log in on the Email ID and enter their Password which is generated at the time of registering. Click on the application form, it will appear on the screen.

Fill your personal details - DOB, gender, state domicile, category, correspondence address etc

Qualification details- Year of passing, name of the board etc.

Once you have filled your details, proceed by clicking on Save and continue button.

Candidates can select National Law Universities as per their preference.


Step 3– Upload Documents & Choose Exam Cities

Upload Images- Visit the official “Document Upload” section and click on the browse button, select the images and upload them.

Select the Exam City- 3 cities can be selected by candidates as per their preference & convenience.

Before proceeding to the next step click on save & continue.

Step 4– Fee Payment

Once you have successfully uploaded your documents, the next step is to pay the fees.

For fee payment select ‘Fee Details” option, choose the mode of payment, enter security pin, accept the declaration and click on “Submit Button”.

Payment can be made through Debit card/ Credit card/ net banking. In case a candidate wants to submit their fees through e-challan, take the hard copy of it and submit it with cash payment to the nearest branch of ICICI or SBI.


Step 5– Confirmation Page

Once you are done with all the steps, click on the link “confirmation page” and take the hard copy of it.


Correction of CLAT Application Forms

Once you have submitted your CLAT Application form 2017, No changes and re –checking will be allowed after submission . Applicants are advised to thoroughly check the form before submitting.
