CLAT 2017 first allotment list was initially published on 5 June 2017 but CNLU, Patna had to withdraw it by late night with immediate effect as many inaccuracies were reported in the list. The list was soon revised and was then uploaded again on the official website.

All the necessary information is available on the official website www.clat.ac.in. The seat allotment status can be checked here. Also, a new portal has been set up clat2017.admissionhelp.com to handle the proceedings of CLAT 2017 counseling.

There were 2042 students who were allotted seats in the eighteen NLUs (National Law Universities). However, this number will surely increase once 252 special category seats such as Non-Resident Indians (NRIs), Foreign Nationals and Residents of Jammu & Kashmir quotas are filled.

Other than this remaining seats there are other factors too that will make changes in this first allotted list as there is a possibility that these students may choose to opt for non-CLAT colleges like National Law University, Delhi.

If we have a look at the Gender Ratio Analysis then it is clear that girls managed to score a less percent of seats, that is 42% of seats as compared of boys. In numbers out of 2042 seats, boys bagged 1193 seats and girls secured 849.

    Gender Ratio Analysis

From the above data it can be understood that the colleges with the lowest gender ratios are NLIU Bhopal, TNNLS Trichy and MNLU Nagpur, these have more girls than boys. NUALS Kochi, MNLU Mumbai, DSNLU Vizag and NUSRL Ranchi also have decent ratios.

Since different NLUs have different highest ranking cut offs according to their set requirements.

Preference Trends

It is interesting to note that the students who were having high scores did not necessarily opted for top NLUs. Students might have their own reasons behind this. The reasons could be a geographical barrier (location), blunders while entering preference, etc.

After the publication of CLAT 2017 first allotment list, the students are waiting for the second allotted list. In the whole process, there will be in total four allotment lists to be published. The expected dates for the remaining lists to be issued are as follows:

Second allotment list              13 June 2017

Third allotment list                  19 June 2017

Forth allotment list                  24 June 2017

The second list being awaited will contain the names of the candidates who have paid their counseling fees and reserved their seats in the participating NLUs. There will be also a list containing waitlisted candidates who will be provisionally selected against the dropped out candidates. These additional candidates will also be required to pay the fees in order to reserve their seats. Final admissions list will be available after third and fourth allotment lists. Candidates need to stay updated with all the further notifications in order to get themselves finally admitted to their choice of NLU.

Stay tuned for more updates!
