XAT is an All India level entrance exam for admission into Post Graduate Programmes in the management courses of several management institutes across India. XAT 2017 took place on 8 January 2017. The overall structure of the exam underwent some changes compared to XAT 2016.

XAT exam was divided into 2 parts:

  1. PART 1 consisted of 3 sections.
  2. PART 2 consisted of GK questions & 1 essay writing exercise.

This section was comparatively difficult when compared to XAT 2016. The distribution of the questions was as follows:

The questions in this section were of MODERATE difficulty level. The non- mathematical part consisted of 15 questions and the non-mathematical part comprised of 6 questions.

  • General knowledge

Gk sections comprised of 25 Gk questions (18 static, 7 current affairs). The topics of questions comprised of History, geography, Business & Economy, political personalities etc.

8-10 marks can be easily scored n this section. There was no negative marking so all the questions should have been attempted.

 

  • Essay Writing

Topic- Globalisation & Jingoism always co-exist.

 

Expected Cut-off

It is expected that the overall cut-off will be around 32-34 marks.
