All those who are yet to take the IBPS-PO Prelims exam in the coming time slots are wondering what is expected in the exam. Here is a detailed analysis of what was asked in Slot 1 of IBPS-PO Prelims 2015 conducted on 3th October (today). The IBPS-PO Prelims exam in the coming slots are expected to ask questions on a similar pattern:
Analysis of English Section of IBPS-PO Prelims Slot 1:
The level of the English Language section of IBPS-PO Prelims was Moderate. There were 5 questions each from cloze test, fill in the blanks, error spotting and sentence rearrangement. 10 questions were asked directly from the RC.
(i) The Reading Comprehension section of English was lengthy and carried 10 marks (10 questions based on the passage and antonyms synonyms)
(ii) Topic of Cloze test questions (5 questions) was Economics. The coming slots can also expect this section to be on a similar difficulty level and theme.
(iii) Fill in the blanks – 5 Questions
(iv) Spotting Error – 5 Questions
(v) Sentence Rearrangement/ Parajumbles section was a little tricky.
Analysis of Quantitative Aptitude Section of IBPS-PO Prelims Slot 1:
The Quantitative Aptitude section was Moderate in difficulty level. Some parts were comparatively more difficult and some were scoring. Read details here:
(i) 5 Questions were asked from Number Series. These were easy.
(ii) Approximation questions were easy and very scoring. Expect 5 Questions here and easily clear your sectional cut-off.
(iii) There were two sets in Data Interpretation. One block had questions on Bar Graph and other one was on Missing Data type DI. Both were of moderate difficulty level.
(iv) The Quadratic Equation section carried 5 Questions. The questions were not tough but the values of number were large so the calculation made the questions time consuming.
(v) The remaining 10 Questions were from topics like Profit and Loss, Average, Boats & Stream, Simple Interest, Time and Work, Average, Ratio & Proportion, Percentage, etc. Some questions out of these were more time consuming and must be attempted at the end.
Analysis of Logical Reasoning Section of IBPS-PO Prelims Slot 1:
Reasoning Ability section was Moderately difficult in IBPS-PO Prelims exam Slot 1.
(i) 5 question were asked directly from Syllogism as expected. If you are weak at solving Syllogism, read this detailed tutorial.
(ii) Again 5 questions on Inequality were asked as expected.
(iii) 5 questions were asked on circular Sitting Arrangement. This block was actually a combination of Blood relation type Questions and seating arrangement questions.
(iv) A moderately difficult puzzle was on Linear Arrangement- ( 5 facing North and 5 facing South)
(v) There was 1 Puzzle with 5 Questions.
(vi) 5 questions were asked from Coding Decoding but there was no question on input-output.
(vii) Finally there were 5 Questions on Blood Relations, Ranking, Direction test, etc.
IBPS-PO 2015 Exam Comparison with SBI-PO Prelims 2015 Exam:
The exam was similar to the difficulty level of SBI-PO Prelims 2015. This is different from previous years trends, where candidates expected the exam to be on the simpler side. This is a learning for those who are yet to take the exam in the coming time slots and in the following years.
Expected Cut-Off for IBPS-PO Prelims 2015:
Based on the exam difficulty level, the expected cut-off will be in the range of 38-45 marks for the general category. For the reserved category, the cut-off will be slightly lower.
