Aspirants who are yet to take the IBPS PO Prelims exam in the upcoming slots must be pondering on what to expect in the exam. We had shared with you the detailed analysis of what was asked in Slot 1 of IBPS PO Prelims conducted on 3rd October. The IBPS PO Prelims exam conducted on 10th October (today) was on a similar pattern about which we will be telling you right now. IBPS is expected to ask questions on a similar trend in the coming slots.
Analysis of Quantitative Aptitude Section of IBPS PO Prelims Slot 9
Difficulty level: easy to moderate
Some parts were scoring and some were comparatively more difficult. Go through the following details -
In Data Interpretation, there were two sets. One block had questions on Missing Data type DI whereas the other one had questions on Line Graph. The missing data questions seemed difficult but were actually simple.
5 questions were there in Quadratic Equations. The questions were not difficult to answer but the values of numbers were quite large so calculations made the questions pretty time consuming.
There were 5 questions from number series, out of which 3 were easy to answer.
Approximation questions were very scoring and easy. Clear your sectional cut–off by choosing the easiest questions out of the lot.
The Remaining 10 questions were from topics like Average, Boats & Streams, Simple Interest, profit & loss, time & work, percentage, ratio & proportion and average etc. Some questions out of these must be attempted at the end as they were very much time consuming.
Analysis of English Section of IBPS-PO Prelims Slot 9
Difficulty level: moderate.
Sentence Rearrangement/Para jumbles: 5 questions were asked from this section and they were a bit tricky like the previous slots.
Fill in the blanks – 5 questions but simple
Spotting Errors – 5 questions but of moderate difficulty level
The Reading Comprehension section of English was lengthy and it carried 10 marks. Antonyms and synonyms based questions were simple so don’t worry if your vocabulary is not strong. Even without reading the passage you can attempt synonym antonym questions. The words were simple but answer options were confusing.
The 5 questions of cloze test questions were easy.
Analysis of Logical Reasoning Section of IBPS–PO Prelims Slot 9
Difficulty level: moderate to Difficult.
3 questions were on Blood Relations.
Direct 5 questions were asked on inequalities which were easy.
There was 1 puzzle along with 5 questions on people attending a meeting in different months of the year.
A moderately difficult puzzle was on Linear Arrangement (people facing north and south)
There were no questions from input – output but 5 questions were asked from coding – decoding.
As expected, 5 questions were directly asked from syllogisms. 3 out of these 5 were possibility based. If you are weak on solving syllogisms, then read this detailed tutorial.
In circular sitting arrangement topic, there were 5 questions. This was moderately difficult.
2 questions were from miscellaneous topics.
IBPS PO 2015 Exam comparison with SBI PO Prelims 2015 Exam
IBPS PO exam 2015 was similar to the difficulty level of SBI PO Prelims 2015. Candidates had expected the exam to be on simpler side, which did not happen – something different from the previous year’s trends. This could be a new challenge and insight for those who are yet to take the exam in the coming slots and in the years to come.
Expected Cut off for IBPS PO Prelims 2015
On the basis of exam difficulty level, the expected cut – off will be in range of 38 – 45 marks for the General Category. And for the reserved category, the cut –off will be slightly lower.
