IBPS-PO Prelims exam 2017 started from today. It was conducted in 4 slots i.e. 9 AM, 11:30 AM, 2 PM and 4:30 PM.

IBPS-PO Prelims 2017 was quite different from the last year. When you will go through the exam analysis, you’ll find that there were major changes in the type of questions asked especially in the English section. There were major changes in the exam pattern even in different slots of the exam conducted today.

1. English Language

Most students found this section of the exam MODERATE-DIFFICULT. The overall level was difficult as compared to the last year. There were no para jumbles and fillers.

This section was of almost similar difficulty level as SBI-PO Prelims 2017. Calculations in DI questions made this section time consuming for most of the candidates. There were no questions based on Quadratic Equations.

Major highlights of IBPS-PO Prelims 7 October 2017 (Changing Trend)

To a major surprise, the pattern of IBPS-PO Prelims held on 7 Oct, 2017  changed in every shift.

(i) New patter introduced in English section

There were no questions on Cloze Test,

The new type of Sentence Improvement & Error Spotting questions were asked in various shifts

(ii) Different topics in different shifts

There were questions from different topics in different slots of IBPS-PO Prelims held today.

For example:

In Reasoning section

In 1st shift – 5 questions from Coding-Decoding were asked

In 2nd shift & 3rd shift- 5 questions from Syllogism were asked

In 4th shift – 5 questions from Input-Output were asked

 

In Quant section

In 1st & 2nd shift- 5 questions on Number Series were asked

In 3rd & 4th shift- 5 questions were asked from Quadratic equations instead of Number Series topic.

 

(iii) Level of questions

The level of questions asked in Quant & Reasoning section was of a MODERATE level while the questions asked in English section were too tough. It was very difficult to find the correct answers from the given options.

(iv) Level of the Exam

The level of IBPS-PO Prelims held today was Moderate-Difficult.

 

Those who have already taken the exam or are going to appear for it tomorrow or in the coming weeks must take a look at the cut-off predictions for IBPS-PO Prelims 2017.
