SBI PO 2015 exam has taken place last weekend on dates 20th June and 21st June and will take place again in coming weekend on 27th June and 28thJune. SBI, The Public Sector Bank, recently announced some major changes in the pattern of its PO Exam.

We had a word with students at multiple exam centers last weekend and found out that even after taking the test, they were not aware of the following:

You have to Clear Sectional Cut-offs as well:

Students did not know that it’s crucial to attempt every section as there would be sectional cut off per section. Students were not aware of the per section cut off respectively. The expected sectional cut- off is 10-12 marks out of (30 marks) in English, (35 marks) in Quantitative Aptitude and (35marks) in reasoning ability. It is mandatory to attempt a few questions per section.

Students just aimed for the overall cut-off last weekend and some were unable to reach the last section because of time shortage.

How to use the Online Platform on which SBI-PO exam is conducted:

SBI PO 2015 is an online exam and students don’t know how to give the examination on computer platform. Some candidates press the ‘Submit’ Button before the time is over by mistake. Some candidates cannot find the ‘Submit’ button. A few candidates don’t know how to review questions and some of them do not know how to switch between different sections. They keep attempting questions in the order that they appear and thus are left with not much time for the last section.

Prepare only 3 sections:

Students had come to give examination and were not aware of the fact that there would be only three sections in the SBI PO Prelims 2015 examination:

  • English Language
  • Quantitative ability
  • Logical Reasoning

Candidates kept on preparing the topics from the older format of the paper i.e., they also prepared sections like General Awareness, Marketing, Computers, Data Interpretation, Data Analysis for the SBI-PO Prelims 2015.

Unaware of the level of competition:

Reservation of seats and vacancies has changed and they are as here:

  • SC 308
  • ST 339
  • OBC 541
  • GEN 812

This brings the total number of vacancies to 2000. Competition is huge and students are going unprepared for the examination. Around 1/60 candidates of the General Category will clear the Prelims and gain entry to the Mains.
