SBI has just finished the Prelims Recruitment process for year 2015 and IBPS has issued the notification for the recruitment of PO. Let us look at the main differences in IBPS PO and SBI PO.
Differences in Recruitment Process
SBI conducts its own recruitment while IBPS conducts recruitment for 21 public sector Banks or Nationalized Banks.
Difference in Difficulty Level
IBPS has mainly changed the pattern of examination from 2015 onwards, so that it can select the best of students. IBPS has been considered to be an easier exam as compared to SBI PO exam till year 2014, but from 2015, the difficulty level is expected to rise and it is expected to come at par with the SBI PO Platform. So Aspirants are advised to study hard and prepare well for IBPS PO exam 2015.
Chance of Getting Selected
Around 20 lakh aspirants will compete for both of the exams. There are 20,000 vacancies expected in banks covered under IBPS-PO in 2015. SBI has offered only 2000 vacancies this year. So logically your chances of getting through are much brighter through IBPS-PO.
Till 2014, in SBI-PO exam the difficulty level of reasoning was much higher as compared to the difficulty level in IBPS-PO exam. This will most probably not be the case in 2015.
In IBPS-PO Quantitative section is majorly Arithmetic based whereas in SBI-PO exam questions are asked on Data Analysis & Interpretation in tables, charts, graphs, etc.
General Awareness Section
In SBI-PO in GA (General awareness section) there is a combined section on Computers, Current Affairs, Banking and Marketing. In the general awareness section of IBPS-PO we come across questions on current affairs and banking. There is a separate section to test computer knowledge.
Differences in Cut – off
The overall cut – off in IBPS PO Exam 2015 is expected to be at par with SBI PO exam 2015. The SBI PO 2015 Prelims exam expected cut–off is in the range of 40-50 marks and it is expected to be similar in IBPS PO exam 2015 as well.
The difficulty level of IBPS-PO 2015 exam is expected to rise from this year onwards and the exam is expected to come at par with the SBI-PO 2015.
