Thousands of doctors aiming to get registered as medical practitioners in India appeared for the FMGE on 12th December 2021. Understanding the various aspects of the exam is crucial for :

1) The ones engrossed in their FMGE exam preparation to excel in the exam to be conducted in 2022, and

We got in touch with some of the doctors who took the exam, conducted a survey, and compiled their responses to help you in the best way possible.

FMGE| Exam Analysis

The overall difficulty level of the exam:

71.7 % of the candidates felt that the exam was Moderate.

21.7% of them found this year’s FMGE Difficult.

6.6% of the candidates stated that the exam was Easy.

General pattern of the FMGE 2021 (December):

According to the analysis, 40 % of the questions were conceptual, 46.3 % aimed at testing clinical knowledge, and  11.7 % of the questions were one-liners.

There were 300 questions in all and as per the survey, the majority of the candidates (91.7%) attempted 250-300 questions, 2.5% of them attempted 200-250 questions, 4.5% of the candidates attempted 150-200 questions, and 1.3% of the aspirants attempted less than 150 questions.

Time: 

Time management during an entrance exam can be very tricky. So we asked the candidates if the allotted time was sufficient to complete the test or not.

The good news is that the majority of the students (88.3%) were of the opinion that the allotted time was enough.

However, 11.7 % of them stated that the given time was not sufficient to attempt all the questions.

Difficulty level of the questions:

53.3% of the candidates stated that the questions were easy but had confusing options to choose from.

25% of them found the clinical scenarios difficult.

21.7% of the candidates said that the questions comprised some one liners they had not heard of before.

Social distancing:

After the country witnessed a devastating second wave of COVID-19, it is crucial that preventive measures are followed. Many candidates stated that social distancing was practised at the examination centres as required.
