In this exclusive interview with PrepLadder, she shares his plan that worked best for her to help score well in FMGE. Hello, please tell us something about yourself.  Hi. I am Dr. Mannem Roopa. I did my MBBS from Ningxia Medical University. I scored 205 marks in FMGE Dec 2018.

What do you think is the correct approach to study for FMGE? Only MCQ's or Theory+MCQ's?

Notes are must and daily practice of MCQs is necessary.

When should the preparation ideally be started?

Full-fledged 6 months is also ok. But starting early will help us a lot.

Have you attempted FMGE previously? If yes, what did you do different this year that lead to your success

No, this is my 1st attempt.

How big is the role of practice and revision while preparing for FMGE and how much time should be dedicated for it?

A daily schedule of 8-10 hrs effectively for revision plays a crucial role. At least 2 months only for revision is a must.

Did PrepLadder play a part in your success? If yes, how?

Yes. I took the grand test series which helped a lot in building up my confidence and worked harder each time I saw my score on the grand tests which helped me get a pretty descent fmge score.

Did you use a time table/study plan to keep your preparation on track?

Yes, mainly during revisions, a timetable is much needed.

Were you a topper or a mediocre student during graduation?

I was a mediocre student during my graduation.

List the most difficult and easiest subjects for you.

Most difficult was Internal Medicine (actually lengthy) and Orthopedics. Easiest were nonclinical subjects.

One mistake that you believe everyone must avoid while preparing for FMGE

Revision is the key. Do not go to the exam without proper revision.
