AIPGMEE 2016 Counselling Round 1 Analysis: Once again, Radio Diagnosis becomes the most popular choice among toppers

With the Conclusion of Round 1 of AIPGMEE, PrepLadder is here with the analysis of the interesting events that transpired during the 1st Round of Counselling of AIPGMEE 2016.
Counselling lasted for 2 days commencing on 21st March and concluding on the next day. Result for the same was declared on 23rd March 2016.

Interesting events that came off during 1st Round of the AIPGMEE Counselling are mentioned below.
29 medical aspirants out of top 100 candidates opted for Radio-Diagnosis. Even last year Radio Diagnosis attracted the maximum top ranking candidates to choose it as their speciality.
Radio-Diagnosis, General Medicine, Paediatrics and Orthopaedics emerged as popular subjects among MD/MS aspirants.
Slight increase in the number of available seats was observed this year. As compared to the previous year, number of available seats escalated to 5603 in 2016 from 5489 in 2015.

Analysis of AIPGMEE Round 1 Counselling as per MCC
As per the facts observed by Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) the following analysis was perceived.
This year 5, 603 seats were available in the 1st round of AIPGMEE counselling, of which, 4650 seats have been allotted to the candidates in 33 MD/MS subjects.
907 seats have been distributed under Diploma programmes among 24 subjects. Remaining 46 seats were transferred to Psychological Medicine and M.P.H. (Epidemiology).
Below given is the table that gives the analysis on the total number of seats allotted to the candidates in various popular subjects.
According to MCC, Candidates have to complete the admission in the Institution allotted in the 1st Round of Counselling and report to the allotted Institution till April 3rd, 2016.
Only 2 Counselling will be held from this academic year as per the Supreme Court’s order.
