Detailed Analysis of UPSC CMS – 2017 Written Examination

For a lucrative career, UPSC CMS is among the best choices for medical professionals. Thus, thousands of candidates appeared in UPSC CMS written examination which was held on August 13, 2017.
The exam was conducted in online mode and comprised of two papers i.e. paper 1 and paper 2. In total, there were 240 questions and the allotted time for each paper was 2 hours.

Rating of difficulty level on a scale of 1 (very easy) to 10 (very difficult)
On an average, the rating we received out of 10 was 7 which imply the difficulty level of exam to be moderate. Candidates shared that questions were direct and with proper time management, they were able to complete the exam on time.
Equal level of difficulty for both portions (General awareness and Medical)
Most of the candidates had the opinion of medical portion being quite tough whereas some felt general awareness to be tougher.
Thus, this necessitates the meticulous preparation for medical subjects and being informed about current affairs in order to crack this exam.
No difficulty in completing the exam in stipulated time
As per the analysis, candidates didn’t face any difficulty in completing their exam in the allotted time.
Few repeated questions from previous year’s exams
Candidates said that few questions were repeated from the previous year’s papers.
Hence, one must go through previous year’s papers as there are chances for some questions to be repeated in subsequent exam. Moreover, it will familiarize you with the exam pattern and the level of difficulty.
No controversial questions were asked
According to the analysis, majority of the candidates have stated that there were not seen any controversial questions, rather direct questions were asked in this year’s UPSC exam.
