AIIMS PG (All India Institute of Medical Sciences Post-Graduate Entrance exam) is an online mode examination conducted twice in a year for admission to various MD/MS courses offered under Clinical and Basic Clinical Sciences.

AIIMS PG is a gateway examination for admission in Post Graduate Programs of prestigious AIIMS Institutes. AIIMS New Delhi is responsible for the planning and execution of the AIIMS PG entrance examination.
AIIMS PG is held twice a year, for January session and for July session.
Important events of AIIMS PG
Notification
July Session AIIMS PG Notification is out tentatively in the month of February for the admission to nearly 131 courses in Clinical and Basic Clinical Sciences.
Notification of the examination for January session is released tentatively in August for admission to similar courses as mentioned for July Session.

Eligibility conditions for AIIMS PG
In order to appear for the AIIMS PG Entrance examination, there are certain eligibility norms that need to be fulfilled. The eligibility conditions are specified below:
Candidates must have obtained MBBS Degree from a recognized university along with registration with MCI (Medical Council of India) or any of the State Medical Councils on completion of Compulsory Internship.
Minimum aggregate marks that a candidate must have scored in MBBS for Gen Category is 55%, for SC/ST is 50%.
Candidates must have completed 12 months Internship by January 30th for January Session and by July 30th for July session AIIMS PG.
Examination Pattern for AIIMS PG
Computer based AIIMS PG Entrance examination consists of 200 Questions asked from the topics taught in MBBS. PrepLadder mock tests run on the same software as used in real AIIMS PG exam.

How to Apply?
Online notification is released specifying the necessary details of the AIIMS PG Examination, notification also carries the date of commencement of application procedure. The whole process is online in nature.
Candidates have to fill the application form by registering with the official site which will generate unique ID and Password that has to be preserved throughout the examination process till the admission to a PG course. Then your credentials have to be filled in the form including Personal Details, MBBS Marks, Uploading of scanned copy of photograph and signatures and depositing the examination fee.
The application procedure for January session starts from August till September while July session starts in March till April.
Rs. 1800 for General/OBC and Rs. 800 for SC/ST category candidates is the AIIMS PG Examination fee. Fee can be deposited by net banking, Debit/credit card or through SBI bank challan.

Important Dates for January Session:
Examination authority issues admit cards a few weeks before the conduction of the examination to the candidates who have successfully completed the application procedure. The admit card can be downloaded by applicants by entering application ID number and date of birth.
AIIMS PG Result and Counseling
The result of AIIMS PG is declared in the month of November for January session examination and in May for July Session of AIIMS PG. Result is declared by the Exam conducting authority only for the qualifying candidates and then followed by the preparing of Merit List. Candidates who make into the merit list are called for the counseling. Counseling is held in three rounds for the allotment of seats to various AIIMS Institutes.
