All India Post Graduate Medical Entrance Examination (AIPGMEE) is a gateway entrance examination conducted nationwide for the admission to various postgraduate medical courses like MD/MS seats except in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and J&K. AIPGMEE is conducted for the 50 %All India Quota seats in MD/MS/ Diploma courses. National Board of Examinations (NBE) is the authority in-charge for the admission to nearly 5500 MD/MS/Diploma seats. According to NBE officials, last year a total of 74000 candidates took the medical entrance exam for admissions to around 5500 seats in 30 MD/MS and 24 Diploma programs.

AIPGMEE Eligibility criteria

  • Candidate must possess MBBS Degree.
  • Candidate must register with MCI or the State Medical Council after MBBS.
  • Candidate must be an Indian National.
  • Under training candidates taking 12 month compulsory rotating internship must complete it by March 31, of the year of examination.
  • Candidates who have obtained their MBBS from J&K, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana are not eligible for AIPGMEE. If any of these candidates want to take the examination then he/ she must submit a duly signed affidavit by the Government of India declaring that they were nominated to do MBBS from Medical Colleges of J&K, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

Application Procedure:

Willing Candidates can apply for the examination only by the online mode. Application notification is released in the month of September. Candidates can fill the form after reading the information brochure carefully.

Exam Fee:

For General/OBC Category- Rs. 3750 For SC/ST/PWD- Rs. 2750 Exam fee can be paid through credit/ debit or net banking. No offline payment mode is available.

Admit Card

Admit cards will be uploaded by the exam conducting authority on the website. Examination authority will inform through an SMS alert to the registered mobile number of applicant, once the admit card has been issued through email. Admit card will contain information about the examination venue and the timings. Also, admit cards will serve as the document for verification in the examination hall. Candidates must report to the examination center with admit cards.

AIPGMEE Result and Counseling

 The result of AIPGMEE is declared tentatively in the month of January. The result is declared only for the candidates who have qualified in the entrance exam. Based on the marks obtained by the candidates merit list is created deciding the ranks of the Candidates. The Qualifying candidates are called for counseling where they are allotted admission to the MD/MS Course in College based on their choice during the counseling. The Medical Counseling Committee (MCC) conducts AIPGMEE counseling in online mode for all the qualifying candidates. The counselling is conducted in 2 rounds. Best Wishes!!
