The tentative schedule for online counselling for NEET PG has been released by the MCC and the round 1 registration will begin on Thursday, July 27, 2023. The Medical Counselling Committee will be posting the updated information bulletin on its official website in the coming days. All the students who have qualified for the NEET PG 2023 exam can fill out their choice of course and colleges during the counselling session.

NEET PG 2023 Counselling: Important DetailsCounselling for the NEET PG 2023 will be conducted online at mcc.nic.in. by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC).
MCC will conduct a total of 4 rounds for NEET PG 2023 All India Quota counselling. Admissions will be decided based on round 1, round 2, the mop-up round and the stray vacancy round of the counselling. The AIQ fresh registrations will be allowed only in the first three rounds and not in the spot round.
For the counselling, eligible students will have to register, pay fees and fill out their choice of courses and colleges. Accordingly, admissions will be granted on the basis of the choices filled, NEET PG 2023 rank, and seat availability.

The National Board of Examinations (NBE) has provided reservations to various categories of candidates appearing in the NEET PG exam. The reservation criteria are based on the Government of India guidelines and are applicable to both the All India Quota (AIQ) and State Quota seats.

NEET PG 2023 counselling result for Round 1 was announced on 8th August. Eligible candidates can check the official MCC website for the final seat allotment result from NEET PG round 1 counselling. Reporting for round 1 PG counselling has also begun and successful candidates can upload their documents at the official portal and complete their reporting/joining process.
Important: In a recent update the MoHFW (Ministry of Health and Family Welfare) has reduced the cutoff percentile or qualifying score to zero for all categories. Accordingly, the committee has also announced that fresh registration and choice filling for Round 3 of NEET PG 2023 Counselling will be opened again. All the candidates who have become eligible after reduction of cut-off score can now register and participate in Round-3 of counselling.

The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) administers the NEET PG counselling procedure for admission to postgraduate medical programmes in India. The following steps are a part of the counselling process:
To participate in the NEET PG counselling procedure, candidates must register on the MCC website. Filling out personal and academic information, uploading papers, and paying the registration fees are all required steps in the registration procedure.
Following registration, candidates must select their preferred courses and colleges from a list. The options can be changed or removed before the submission is made.
MCC organises seat allotment based on candidates’ NEET PG rank, selections they have made, and the seats that are available.
Following the final seat assignment, candidates must either accept their seat or choose to upgrade during the ensuing round of counselling.
Once the seat has been accepted, applicants must arrive at the designated college within the specified time frame with the required paperwork to finish the admissions process.
The same procedure is repeated up until the last round of counselling if the candidate chooses an upgrade during the subsequent session of counselling.

Admissions for 50% of the State Quota seats and 100% of the seats at private colleges are managed by the State authorities for NEET PG admissions. Each state conducts separate counselling sessions for admission and based on NEET PG cutoff score, academic qualification, and other factors, each state compiles a merit list of qualified applicants.
Seats for the MD, MS, and PG diploma programmes will be distributed depending on state rank, reservation criteria, and other variables, and candidates will select their preferred college and courses during the registration process.

The NEET PG cutoff scores/qualifying percentile released on the official NBE website, along with NEET PG 2023 results on 14th March 2023 was 50th percentile or 291 marks for general category. The same was 40th percentile or 257 marks for SC/ST/OBC, and 45th percentile or 274 marks for General - PH.
However, in a recent development dated 20th September, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) has eliminated the minimum cutoff percentile or qualifying score for NEET PG 2023 counselling for all categories. This decision was taken after 8,000 PG seats, both clinical and non-clinical in government and private colleges remained vacant across the country after NEET PG round 3 counselling.
Qualified candidates can participate in the NEET PG 2023 counselling by registering on the official MCC website.
Candidates need to apply online for NEET PG 2023 counselling. You must register on the official MCC website. During the NEET PG counselling registration, candidates need to provide the enrolment number. It is the unique number found on the MBBS Degree, specific to each candidate and the university from which the MBBS course has been completed.
