NEET PG 2026: NBEMS Reopens Final Image Correction Window; Check Deadline and Key Dates

The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has given NEET PG 2026 candidates another opportunity to correct deficient images in their applications.

The development comes after the earlier selective image-edit window closed on August 10, 2026. Following scrutiny, NBEMS noted that several candidates had still not uploaded their photographs, signatures, and/or thumb impressions according to the prescribed requirements. Such candidates have now been granted a final correction opportunity from August 12, 2026, at 1:00 PM until August 15, 2026, at 11:55 PM.

With NEET PG 2026 scheduled for August 30, candidates who have been flagged for image deficiencies should use this window without delay.

What Can Be Corrected in the Reopened Window?

This is not a general application correction window. It is specifically meant for candidates whose uploaded images do not comply with NBEMS requirements.

Candidates may be asked to rectify:

• Photograph
• Signature
• Thumb impression

The correction can be made through the Image Scrutiny section available in the candidate login dashboard. The earlier selective edit facility had also been restricted to these image-related deficiencies.

NBEMS has cautioned that candidates who fail to rectify the identified deficiencies within the final window may face cancellation of their applications.

Why Has NBEMS Reopened the Window?

The original selective image-correction window was available from July 31 to August 10. It followed the broader application correction facility conducted from July 25 to July 28.

However, after the August 10 deadline, NBEMS found that some applications continued to contain images that did not meet the prescribed specifications. The additional August 12–15 window therefore serves as a final opportunity for affected candidates to make the required corrections.

Candidates should carefully check their registered email address and application dashboard for any communication regarding deficient images.

NEET PG 2026 City Intimation

The NEET PG 2026 city intimation process has gone ahead as well. This city slip tells the candidates the city where their examination center will be located. It provides adequate time to make all necessary travel arrangements and accommodation.

However, one must not get confused by considering the city intimation slip as the admit card. There is a definite date for release of the NEET PG 2026 admit card, which is August 27, and it will also contain detailed information about the examination center.

NEET PG 2026: Key Dates

The examination remains scheduled for August 30, 2026, with the result expected by September 30.

What Should Candidates Do Now?

If your photo or any signature or thumb impression photo is under suspicion (flagged) by NBEMS, make a note that, in this case, you are to treat it as something other than a general update. Access your NEET PG 2026 application dashboard via the login option and go to the Image Scrutiny section. Then upload the corrected image there, and it is essential that you finish it by August 15.

Your next step after that would be to see how your exam centre details look; and, if need arises make arrangements related to travel and other requirements for the travel; Also stay tuned for the admit card to come up on August 27.
