After conducting every NBE exam for 6 years, Prometric role as a testing partner with NBE in conducting these exams has come to an end.
Prometric used to conduct the following exams with NBE:
1. NEET PG
2. NEET MDS
3. FMGE
4. NEET SS
5. DNB exams (DNB CET, DNB PDCET, DNB SS)
This move was pondered in regard to various irregularities which were observed earlier this year after which a FIR was filed with the Delhi Police against breaching of prometric system at various centres. Following the investigations, the testing company, in July, admitted to the police that their software “can be breached”.
In the past Dr. Bipin Batra (ex executive director, NBE) was suspended on corruption charges, he was suspected of unethically providing contract of conduct of examinations to Prometric without issuing tender notice or bidding process.
We understand the concerns of the aspirants across the nation and are working to gather more information regarding the same.
Till then, here are some predictions about the changes by PrepLadder experts:
Who will be the exam conducting body?
In the past many exams have been taken away from Prometric (like CAT). All these exams are now conducted by TCS (which is also the conducting body for AIIMS PG). Most likely TCS will be hired to conduct NBE exams as well and the exam software will be same as AIIMS PG.
Will the exam pattern change?
Exam pattern, in terms of number of questions, difficulty level, time allotted, marks distribution etc will probably remain the same. Since these things are decided by NBE and Prometric has no role in it.
However, NBE exams might now have negative marking for incorrect response.
Will the exam be single session or multiple session?
Exam will probably be taken in single session now, there will be no normalization used and scores released will be raw absolute scores.
How will PrepLadder help its students prepare for this change?
PrepLadder will be the first platform to adapt to this change and shift all the tests to the new platform as soon as it is announced.
We will also launch special training tests to help our students practice and transition onto the new software.
Do you think this move will curb corruption in Medical exams and promote merit?
