Many times, aspirants can perform really well in their exam but somehow lack in managing the time in how to prepare for any particular entrance exam and thus are unable to achieve what they desire. However, time period of 6 months is enough for the preparation of any entrance exam and specifically NEET SS Medicine 2018. Usually, aspirants have queries in their mind about what type of questions are asked in NEET SS, which books should they follow and why, what time should they devote to particular topics, etc. NEET SS Medicine was first conducted in June, 2017 comprising of 200 MCQs to be completed in the time duration of 150 minutes. There was negative marking of 25% (i.e. 1/4) for every incorrect answer. We have prepared a blog in order to assist you all about how one should prepare for NEET SS Medicine 2018 based on deep analysis on NEET SS Medicine 2017 exam. What type of MCQs were asked in NEET SS Medicine? Approximately, 50% MCQs were one line type and 30% MCQs were topic oriented which means you should have thorough knowledge about the topic and the remaining 20% included long questions and image based questions. Which Book to Follow? Approximately, 90% or more MCQs were asked from Harrison Textbook of Internal Medicine. MCQs were taken line to line from paragraphs of Harrison. Most of the MCQs were there as One Liners (Approx. 50%) while about 20% MCQs tested the knowledge of student about the whole topic, again taken from Harrison. Remaining 20% were long questions and image based for which again an aspirant need to have knowledge of the whole topic. One more thing, approximately 8-10 MCQs were asked from PSM (Topics especially biostatistics, Screening, Epidemiology etc). Is there any MCQ Book we should follow? There is one MCQ book (By Prof. Ajay Mathur) based on 19th edition of Harrison chapterwise and topicwise (taken MCQs from liners or paragraphs or tables of Harrison). After reading a particular topic from Harrison textbook, one should go through MCQ of similar topic from this book. Other books we have that can also be followed are MCQ book of Medicine by Deepak Marwah or Mudit Khanna. Both of these books contain recently asked MCQs as per NBE pattern for post graduate entrance examination (NEET PG) to double sure your success. How to devote time to cover whole syllabus? Our main focus is Harrison 19th edition. We should read Harrison chapterwise focusing on important topics, covering topic of e-chapters too and simultaneously read topics from MCQ books especially from MCQ book by Prof. Ajay Mathur.
