Google has announced an Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning model which can identify and highlight medicines mentioned in doctors' prescriptions. It will act as an assistive technology for digitizing handwritten medical documents. Reports suggest that the feature will allow users to capture or upload an image on the app. After processing the image, AI will detect the medicines in the prescription. The feature is currently under development as a prototype.
India has recently reported four cases of a new corona strain - Omicron sub-variant BF.7. It is the same Covid variant that has led to the surge in infections in China and several other countries including Germany, Belgium, France, Denmark, the US and the UK.
