The NBEMS released the tentative exam calendar for 2026 on 29th December 2025 on its official website natboard.edu.in. Students preparing for the June 2026 session should expect the information bulletin and application window to open around late April 2026, based on previous year trends.

As per the FMG exam scheme, there is no provision for re-totaling or re-evaluation after the exam. After successfully passing the exam, candidates are not eligible to retake it, and violation of this rule can result in the exam being declared void and canceled. Therefore, you must prepare well for the exam before attempting the FMGE.
The FMGE June 2026 exam pattern remains the same, following a computer-based format (CBT) conducted in English. The exam consists of two papers, each featuring 150 multiple-choice questions (MCQs), for a total of 300 marks. To pass, candidates must secure at least 50% of the total score.

FMGE is a licensing screening test conducted by NBEMS for Indian citizens and OCIs who completed MBBS abroad. It is mandatory to register with the NMC or the State Medical Councils to practice medicine in India. The exam consists of 300 MCQs with a 50% passing threshold (150/300).

The FMGE January 2026 pass percentage was 23.9%. Out of 42,872 candidates who appeared, 10,264 qualified. The results were declared on 29th January 2026, and scorecards were released on 6th February 2026.
Medicine (33 marks), Surgery (32 marks), Obstetrics & Gynaecology (30 marks), and Community Medicine (30 marks) are the four highest-weight clinical subjects - together they account for 125 out of 300 marks. Among pre-clinical subjects, Anatomy, Physiology, and Biochemistry carry 17 marks each.
