In this exclusive interview with PrepLadder, he shares his preparation plan that worked best for him to help score well in FMGE.

Hello, please tell us something about yourself. I am Dr. Meet Joshi; I graduated from Penza state university, Russia batch of 2013. I have scored 225 in FMGE DEC 2019. What do you think is the correct approach to study for FMGE? Only MCQ's or Theory+MCQ's? Theory + MCQ'S When should the preparation ideally be started? It is subjective, but if your concepts are clear then 6-7 months are enough for preparation. Please list the books you studied for each subject. I watched lecture videos and notes by the Dream Team. Also, I watched Dr. Najeeb"s lecture videos during med school which I found to be very helpful to clear my basics.   Have you attempted FMGE previously? If yes, what did you do different this year that lead to your success No, this was my first attempt. How big is the role of practice and revision while preparing for FMGE and how much time should be dedicated for it? Revision is the key to FMGE. At least 3-4 revisions are a must. Try to revise your weak areas more. Now the question is how one can know his/her weak areas? Of course by solving MCQs and giving grand tests. So practicing more MCQs and revisions are essential. The time given to each topic is subjective. For me, I used to solve a minimum of 60-70 MCQs per day and I had completed my first revision in mid-October. I believe that one should always try to clear concepts first rather than quickly mugging up because more conceptual questions are being asked nowadays. So, don’t just mug up facts. Did PrepLadder play a part in your success? If yes, how? Yes definitely, the Dream Team is fantastic. The PrepLadder grand tests give you a glimpse of the real exam. With the help of the grand test analysis, I could identify my weak subjects and revise it again. List the most difficult and easiest subjects for you. Not all the subjects but some topics were hard and some easy. Did you use a time table/study plan to keep your preparation on track? If yes, how? Yes, Videos by MIB (Gobind sir and Apurv sir) were really helpful for creating a study schedule. I would recommend having a study partner and if possible both should follow the same schedule. By doing this, you will be motivating each other and will try to follow the schedule with the best efforts. Sometimes I was unable to follow the schedule; after all, we are humans, not robots, for that, I used to take a gap of a day or two while making a schedule to compensate. Don’t overestimate or underestimate your strength and make your schedule according to it. Were you a topper or a mediocre student during graduation? I was an above average student.   One mistake that you believe everyone must avoid while preparing for FMGE The one mistake that you must avoid is changing study resources frequently, guys your visual memory is going to be very helpful during exam!! Some last tips for our readers preparing for FMGE? Never give up! "Teri kismat da likhya tere to koi kho nai sakda.
