INI-CET Exam Analysis

On 22nd July 2021, candidates from different parts of the country appeared for INI-CET, with every pair of eyes set on the same dream of clearing the exam. While all these candidates completed the race they spent months and years preparing for, lakhs of candidates are all set to begin their preparation journey. 

The analysis of INI-CET exam held in different cities, sheds light on the experiences and opinions of the candidates who appeared for it. So, this analysis aims at giving the desired clarity to the aspirants who will give the exam next year. After all, no one understands what an INI-CET aspirant needs to know better than the ones who have been there.

INI-CET 2021: Exam Analysis

The overall difficulty level of the exam:

Majority of the candidates (79.4%) stated that the exam was moderate.

11.8% of them found this year’s INI CET easy (and every aspirant secretly wishes to fall in this category).

Only 8.8% of the candidates stated that the exam was difficult.

Pattern of the exam:

  • According to the analysis, 41.2% of the questions were conceptual, 31.1% aimed at testing clinical knowledge and 27.7 % of the questions were one-liners.
  • Less number of IBQs
  • Good number of repeats
  • Easy questions with confusing options

Subjects with low weightage:

  • Anaesthesia
  • ENT
  • Biochemistry

Subjects with high weightage:

  • Medicine 
  • OBG
  • Surgery

Number of attempted questions:

There were 200 questions in all and as per the survey. Majority of the candidates attempted 150-200 questions.

Time:

Time management during an entrance exam can be very tricky. So we asked the candidates if the allotted time (3 hours) was sufficient to complete the test or not.

The good news is that the majority of the students (72.4%) were of the opinion that the allotted time was enough.

However, 27.6% of them stated that the given time was not sufficient to attempt all the questions.

Difficulty level of the questions:

69% of the candidates stated that the questions were easy but had confusing options to choose from.

18 % of them found the clinical scenarios difficult.

13% of the candidates said that the questions comprised some one liners they had not heard of before.

Social Distancing:

After the country witnessed a devastating second wave of COVID-19, it is expected that the preventive measures are followed, but most of the candidates stated that social distancing was not practiced at the examination centres as required.
