Now that the INI-CET November 2025 exam is done and dusted and the results are out, there are bittersweet feelings floating in the air right now. While the toppers are rejoicing, the ones who couldn’t make it are devastated. But there is a question at the back of everyone’s mind, “What did the toppers do differently?”
Behind every single and double-digit ranks, there is not just hard work but a series of conscious choices at every step of the way. The success boils down to how they made the most of their postings, how they handled mock tests, and how they revised with the right resources, especially when fatigue and doubts kicked in.
As soon as the results came, we spoke to some of the most brilliant minds who scored terrific ranks in the latest exam. Dr Abhinav (AIR 3), Dr Sumeet (AIR 6), Dr Ajay (AIR 11), Dr Anjali (AIR 16), and Dr Bhavek (AIR 19) had a lot of heartwarming things to say about the exam.
They didn’t just share the tips, but also opened up about weak subjects, anxious days, days when they wanted to give up altogether, and how they leveraged PrepLadder’s resources to achieve success.
Now, without further ado, let’s dive straight in.
With such an incredible AIR, Dr. Abhinav shared his journey in a heartfelt manner. For him, this attempt was not about learning everything from scratch. He instead refined years of his disciplined practice into one final push.
Even though he knew that this was going to be the toughest INI-CET exam he ever had to face, even before entering the exam hall, he treated it like just “another GT.” His basics from MBBS were the only thing he relied on to achieve success.
He claimed in the interview that Surgery has always been his weaker area, and rather than neglecting it, he made it the center of his early revision.
What made him stand apart from others toppers is that he refused to get stuck on questions that he couldn’t fathom, he moved quickly, and saved his energy for the parts he knew he could capitalize on.
In the last month, he focused mostly on PYQs, strategic Grand Tests, and revisiting weaker sections until he got perfect at it.
He doesn’t consider his rank a miracle, but for him, it’s an attribute to “the courage to not panic when the paper wants you to.”
Dr. Sumeet’s ruthless consolidation and focus on strong fundamentals is what make his journey to AIR 6 one of a kind. Through USMLE preparation, he had already built strong pre-clinical and clinical foundations. When he shifted his focus entirely to PG entrance exams, he realised that only clarity can make his rank.
That is when he leveraged PrepLadder’s video lectures to strengthen subjects, including Pathology and Microbiology.
He couldn’t thank Grand Tests enough for his success. Claiming that he analyzed every test meticulously on the same day, they helped him understand the logic behind every option.
During his low-energy phases, LR/LRR sessions became his anchor. His AIR 6 is the testament of a disciplined system:
Preparing through an internship is a different battle altogether, and Dr Ajay embodies that reality honestly. With unpredictable postings and erratic hours, he built his schedule around the hospital rather than fighting it.
In Pediatrics postings, he studied Pediatrics; in OB-GYN postings, he studied Gynae—closing the loop between ward exposure and exam preparation.
Because he had done the heavy lifting earlier in MBBS, his final six months were centred almost entirely on revision notes, PYQs, and GTs.
He formed a three-member study group in which each GT was dissected on the same day, ensuring mistakes were not forgotten but understood.
In the final stretch, he used LR/LRR sessions to reinforce volatile subjects like Pathology and Microbiology, revisiting them multiple times until they “looked familiar from memory.”
His story reflects that an internship is not a disadvantage if your foundations are clean and your revision is sharp.
She could achieve such an amazing rank only because she had absolute clarity about her mistakes, her potential, and what needed to change. Even though she secured a respectable rank in the earlier session, she still wanted a better rank. So, she made an emotionally tough choice.
She relied mostly on main videos to build concepts and then leveraged LRR sessions as a resource to consolidate high-yield concepts.
She made Grand Tests a routine by analyzing incorrect options first, reviewing the unattempted ones, and then revisiting even the correct ones for comprehensive understanding.
Her preparation style—shorter, repeated revisions instead of long, exhausting subject marathons—helped her stay consistent through internship and revision.
There are very few journeys that would be as heart-touching as Bhavek’s. He has secured top ranks earlier as well and joined Dermatology at PGI, Chandigarh. Later, he realised that the branch did not resonate with who he aspired to be.
He made one of the toughest choices of walking away, and that required courage and conviction. The good thing was that his parents fully supported him. He gave his all to the preparation, but with Radiology this time.
This time, he focused mostly on Grand Tests, PYQs, and a question-first approach. He revised by compressing large subjects into extremely concise notes using Rapid Revision and LRR sessions. And then he turned them into summaries that he could revisit as many times as he wanted.
During his last phase of preparation, his anxiety was high, and studying actively felt draining for him. It was then that he switched to studying passively. With LRR, he kept learning without feeling burned out.

Every story above is surely different from the last one. But the patterns are pretty coherent and repetitive.
If you are preparing for the next INI-CET, you do not need to copy any topper’s routine. But you can borrow their mindset.
