We would like to share the excerpts from his interview and use it to score our mark. Hello, please tell us something about yourself. Hi. I am Arun Siomasundaram. I graduated in 2015 from Government Dharmapuri Medical College and I am an intermediate or break batch student there. I scored Rank-19 in JIPMER May 2018 What do you think is the correct approach to study for JIPMER? Only MCQ's or Theory+ MCQ's? According to me, Theory plus MCQ’s is thye best approach to study for JIPMER. When should the preparation ideally be started? Preparation after internship is sufficient for preparation of JIPMER. Have you attempted any PG exam previously? If yes, what were your ranks then and what did you do different this time that lead to your success? Yes, I have attempted many PG exams previously. NEET 2017 – 3400 (AIR) AIIMS NOV 2017 – 1500 (AIR) JIPMER NOV 2017 - Around 800 (AIR) PGIMER NOV 2017- 140 (AIR) NEET 2018 - Around 6000 (AIR) AIIMS MAY SESSION- 59 (AIR) PGIMER - 48 (AIR) How big is the role of practice and revision while preparing for JIPMER and how much time should be dedicated for it? Revision is the key to success. I used to spend around 14-16 hours a day. Did PrepLadder play a part in your success? If yes,how? Yes, I wrote PrepLadder’s All India Mock for JIPMER and got rank 22 among 18000. It boosted my morale and confidence for real exam. Did you use a time table/study plan to keep your preparation on track? Yes and it is must Were you a topper or a mediocre student during MBBS? I failed in anatomy but after that got 7 distinctions being a break batch student. List the most difficult and easiest subjects for you. Difficult-Physiology but all other subjects are my favourite One mistake that you believe everyone must avoid while preparing for JIPMER. Concentrate on recent 5 years. Never go wrong in repeats. What was your exam taking strategy? How many questions did you attempt in JIPMER? To be cool and if you become tensed, everything will be spoiled. I attempted 237 questions. Some last tips for our readers preparing for PG? Please don't have demotivating friends (not all but there will be some) around you. Talk to your parents during difficult time.
