The wait is finally over for thousands of aspiring doctors across the country! The National Board of Examinations (NBE) has officially released the FMGE Jan 2026 result on 29th January 2026.

Candidates who appeared for the exam held on 17th January 2026 can now check their individual scores and find out if they’ve crossed the all-important 150-mark qualifying threshold—the gateway to medical licensure in India.

FMGE, or the Foreign Medical Graduate Examination, is a national-level licensing exam conducted by the NBE for Indian citizens and OCIs who’ve pursued their medical education abroad. Qualifying the FMGE allows candidates to apply for provisional or permanent registration with the National Medical Commission (NMC) or respective State Medical Councils (SMCs)—bringing them a step closer to practicing medicine in India.

NBE conducts this licensing examination twice yearly to offer provisional or permanent registration with the NMC/SMC. The result of the FMGE Jan '26 examination has been declared today, on 29th January, on the NBEMS website.

To qualify, candidates must score a minimum mark of 150 out of 300. Qualifying candidates who score the minimum cut-off marks will be issued a pass certificate that will enable them to practice medicine in India.

Students can access their FMGE 2026 scorecard on February 6, 2026, by entering their login credentials, which are their login ID and password. After downloading the FMGE scorecard, students can check the marks obtained in the exam.
