The prospectus for admission into the May 2024 session of postgraduate courses [MD, MS, DM (6 yrs), MCh (6 yrs) and MDS] through the INI-CET exam has been released. 

If you wish to seek admission at AIIMS, JIPMER-Puducherry, NIMHANS- Bengaluru, PGIMER-Chandigarh and SCTIMST- Trivandrum, it's crucial to be well-versed with the important dates, application process, eligibility criteria, and other essential details related to the exam.

Application Process

The INI-CET application process is entirely online, and applicants can access it through the AIIMS website. The process consists of three stages: 

Stage 1: Registration & Basic Candidate Information

The Registration & Basic Candidate Information is a one-time process for postgraduate course applicants. It involves registering with the IT system, providing personal information, and uploading images. 

It must be noted that Applicants who have previously registered for a postgraduate examination conducted by AIIMS, New Delhi, need not register again and can proceed directly to Stage 2. 

Applicants must have an accepted Registration & Basic Candidate Information to generate an Exam Unique Code (EUC) and complete the INI-CET 2024 application. This will require that the quality and format of the uploaded images is acceptable. You can find the instructions for uploading images in the prospectus here.

Stage 2: Generation of Exam Unique Code

The next step in the application process for the INI-CET 2024 exam is the generation of the exam unique code, which requires an accepted Registration & Basic Candidate Information with uploaded images of their photo, signature, and thumb impression. 

Next, you need to generate a unique code to indicate your desire to apply for the exam. This code is specific to each instance of the examination and a previously generated code cannot be used again.

INI CET Previous Year Question Papers

Stage 3: Completion of Application. 

Once the Exam Unique Code (EUC) for INI-CET 2024 is generated, applicants can proceed to the Completion of Application page to apply for the exam. They need to provide their valid registration ID, password, and EUC to log in and complete the application form. 

The application fee for INI-CET 2024 exam is Rs. 4000/- for General/OBC category candidates and Rs. 3200/- for SC/ST/EWS category candidates.

Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria for the INI-CET (Institute of National Importance Combined Entrance Test) exam are as follows:

  • Nationality: The candidate must be an Indian citizen.
  • Education: The candidate must possess a MBBS degree for MD/MS and BDS degree for MDS recognized by the Medical Council of India/Dental Council of India. 
  • Internship: The candidate must have completed the required period of 12 months of compulsory rotating internship/Practical training.
  • Medical Registration: The candidate must have a valid medical registration with the Medical Council of India/State Medical Council for MD/MS or Dental Council of India/State Dental Council for MDS.

Exam Pattern of INI-CET

INI-CET will be a computer-based exam with a duration of 3 hours. A total of 200 multiple-choice questions will be asked in the exam. Each correct answer will score 1 mark and every incorrect answer will have a negative marking of -⅓. No marks will be allotted for unanswered questions.
